Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will host the 39th Annual Convention of the Indian Society for the Study of Animal Reproduction (ISSAR) and National Symposium on "Challenges in Enhancing Reproductive Efficiency of Livestock: An Indian Perspective" from November 29 to December 1, 2024. The event aims to address the critical issues affecting reproductive health in the livestock sector, with a particular focus on dairy farming. The symposium will feature a range of sessions focusing on improving breeding techniques, managing reproductive health, and enhancing livestock management practices to boost overall productivity and sustainability in the dairy industry.
The event is expected to be a significant platform for knowledge exchange among veterinarians, researchers, academics, and policymakers, aiming to foster collaboration and provide practical solutions to enhance reproductive efficiency in livestock. Participants will gain valuable insights into emerging trends in veterinary science and animal husbandry that can be adopted to improve livestock health across the country.
One of the major highlights of the event will be the Academia-Industry-Farmers Interface, which will facilitate direct interactions among stakeholders, fostering collaboration between scientific research and practical field applications. This will include An IDEATHON – a special poster session aimed at engaging academics, scientists, postgraduate students, industry professionals, and farmers. This session will allow participants to share innovative ideas and solutions to pressing challenges in livestock reproduction.
The event will be graced by distinguished guests. Sh. Rahul Bhandari, the Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Dairy Development, Government of Punjab, will be the Chief Guest. Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor will be the Guest of Honour, while Dr. Gursharanjit Singh Bedi Director of Animal Husbandry, Punjab, will be the Special Guest for the inaugural session.
