Notice for Admission to Diploma, Undergraduate and Master's Programmes, Post Graduate Diploma (Off-line mode), Short and Certificate Courses (Off-line mode) 2020-21


 


 

 

 

Applications are invited for admission to the following programmes offered by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University during the academic session 2020-21:-

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

(I) B.V.Sc. & A.H. (5½-year programme)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Indian Board / University with at least 50% marks (47.5% for DP, SC/ST, BC and KM categories) in aggregate  excluding optional subject. Only those  candidates who are residence of Punjab or Union Territory of Chandigarh and Kashmiri Migrants (one seat only) are eligible for seeking admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme. The admissions to B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme will be made on the basis of the merit of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET)-2020.

II) B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), (4-year programmes)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from a recognized Indian Board/ University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for DP and 40% for SC/ ST, BC & KM categories) excluding optional subject.

(III) B.Tech. (Biotechnology) and B.F.Sc. (4-year programmes)

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology and English from a recognized Indian Board/ University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for DP and 40% marks for SC/ ST, BC & KM categories) excluding optional subject.

Note:

MASTERS’ PROGRAMMES

(I) M.V.Sc.

Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Production Management, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology,  Veterinary Surgery & Radiology and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education.

The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc. programme in COVS shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a college recognized by the VCI. The candidate must be registered with the VCI/ State Veterinary Council.

(II) M.Sc. (Biochemistry)

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. (Biochemistry) in COVS shall be B.Sc. (Biochemistry)/ B.Sc. (Medical)/B.Sc. (Biotechnology)/B.Sc. (Agriculture)/ B.Tech. (Biotechnology)/B.F.Sc. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

(III) M.V.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology)

The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology) shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a institute recognized by VCI. The candidate must be registered with the VCI/ State Veterinary Council.

(IV)  M.Sc. (Biotechnology)/ Biotechnology with specialization in Animal Biotechnology

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. (Biotechnology)/ Biotechnology with specialization in Animal Biotechnology shall be B.F.Sc. or B.Sc. (Biotechnology/ Medical) or B.Sc. Hons. (Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Molecular Genetics) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

Note: Candidates admitted under DBT- Postgraduate Teaching Programmes for admission in M.Sc. Biotechnology with specialization in Animal Biotechnology.

(V) M.F.Sc.

The minimum qualification for admission to M.F.Sc. programmes in the College of Fisheries shall be B.F.Sc. (4 year degree programme) from a recognized institute with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.

(VI) M.Tech. (Dairy Technology)

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Technology) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. (Food Technology)/B.Tech. (Food Technology) (4 year programme) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree.

(VII) M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering)

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be Bachelor degree in Dairy Technology/ Dairy and Food Technology/ Food Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering (4 year programme) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree.

(VIII) M.Tech. (Dairy Microbiology)

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Microbiology) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. (Food Technology)/B.Tech. (Food Technology) (4 year programme) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree.

(IX) M.Tech. (Dairy Chemistry)

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech (Dairy Chemistry) programme in the college of Dairy Science & Technology shall be B.Tech (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. (Food Technology)/B.Tech Food Technology (4 year programme) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree.

(X) M.Sc. [Agricultural Economics(Animal Husbandry)]

The minimum qualification for admission to M.Sc. [Agricultural Economics (Animal Husbandry)] programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ B.F.Sc./ B.Sc. (Dairying/ Dairy Science/ Agri./ Agri. Hons./Medical or non-Medical) /B.A. (Hons.) in Economics with Mathematics as one of the subjects / B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.V.Sc./ B.Sc. Animal Science with minimum OCPA/ OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.

Note: Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. degree.

Note:

1.

Candidates resident of Punjab will be considered in the respective discipline as opted in ICAR AIEEA-PG-2020 on the basis of merit of AIEEA-PG-2020 entrance examinations including for reserve categories. The vacant seats thereafter, if any will be filled up in the following sequence:

   

i. Candidates resident of Punjab as per merit based on OCPA/ OGPA/ percentage of marks of qualifying degree of the candidate.
ii. Candidates other than resident of Punjab in the respective discipline as opted in ICAR AIEEA-PG-2020 on the basis of merit of AIEEA-PG-2020 entrance examinations.
iii. Candidates other than resident of Punjab who have already applied as per specified date, will be considered on the merit based on OCPA/ OGPA/ percentage of marks of the qualifying degree of the candidate.

For in-service candidates for all Master’s Programmes, the OCPA/ OGPA shall be 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks in aggregate with two years professional experience (after completion of bachelor degree)  in any department of Punjab Government/ Union Territory of Chandigarh/ Central Government/ Semi-Government/ Private Sector Organization on the last date of receipt of applications.

 

Ph.D. Programmes

COLLEGE OF VETERINARY SCIENCE

Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Production Management, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology,  Veterinary Surgery & Radiology and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education.

Minimum Qualification:- A Master's level degree (M.V.Sc.) in the respective/related discipline and B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree from a college recognized by the VCI with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Master’s level and a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00 or equivalent at Bachelor’s level. Candidate must be registered with the VCI/SVC.

COLLEGE OF FISHERIES

Aquaculture, Fisheries Resource Management and Aquatic Environment Management.

Minimum Qualification:  A Master's level degree (M.F.Sc.) in respective/related discipline with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent and  a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00  in B.F.Sc (4 year programme).

COLLEGE OF DAIRY SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Minimum Qualification:  A Master's level degree in M.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ M.Sc. Food Science/ M.Tech. Food Tech.) or equivalent with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent and a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00  or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

DAIRY ENGINEERING

Minimum Qualification:  A Master's level degree M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering/ Processing and Food Engineering/ Food Engineering) with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent at Masters’ level. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00  or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

DAIRY MICROBIOLOGY

Minimum Qualification:  A Master's level degree M.Sc./ M. Tech. Dairy Microbiology/ Food Microbiology/ M.Sc. (Microbiology)/ M.Sc./ M. Tech. Food Safety and Quality Assurance/ Food Safety and Quality Management/ M.V.Sc. Microbiology or equivalent degree  with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks or equivalent. They should have a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00  or equivalent at Bachelor’s level.

AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS (ANIMAL HUSBANDRY)

Minimum Qualification:  A Master's level degree M.Sc./ M.V.Sc. in Agricultural Economics/ Dairy Economics/ Livestock Economics/ Veterinary Economics/ Animal Husbandry Economics or M.A.  Economics with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks in aggregate. They should have minimum OCPA 5.50  (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00  or equivalent at Bachelor’s level in relevant/ related discipline from a recognized University.

COLLEGE OF ANIMAL BIOTECHNOLOGY

ANIMAL BIOTECHNOLOGY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:  A Master's level degree in Animal Biotechnology/ Veterinary Biotechnology/ any branch of Veterinary Science with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks and B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent from a recognized University with a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00. 

BIOTECHNOLOGY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:  A Master's level degree in Biotechnology/ Fisheries/ Life Sciences with a minimum OCPA of 7.00 (out of 10.00) or 70% marks and B.Sc. (Biotechnology/ Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Molecular Genetics or B.F.Sc. or equivalent from a recognized University with a minimum OCPA of 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks or an OGPA of 2.00/4.00. 

NOTE:-
1.    Selection to the Ph.D. Programme will be done based on the merit of the marks of qualifying examination (80%) and interview (20%).
2.    For the purpose of admission to Ph.D. programme, an in-service candidate must  be an employee of University, national institute, Punjab Govt., Union Territory of Chandigarh, Central Government, Semi-Government or Private sector organizations with five years experience, but preference will be given to the Govt. in-service candidate. The candidate will be considered only if duly nominated by his/ her employer/ department/ institute as an in-service candidate.   
3.    If the Ph.D. seats after filling from Punjab resident candidates remain vacant, the candidates of other states, who have already applied and appeared in the interview for admission to Ph.D. Programme, will be considered for admission on merit basis.
4.    In Dairy Microbiology, the candidate with three year degree programme at Bachelor level will have to clear, pre-requisite courses of one year. In admission preference will be given to students with M.Tech.  (Dairy Microbiology).
5.    Students other than M.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/ M.Tech. (Dairy Engineering)/ M.Tech. (Dairy Microbiology) degree holder will be required to clear deficiency course, as suggested by the student advisory committee.
6.    The selected candidates shall have to deposit the entire fee as per rules of prospectus. For detail please consult the Prospectus available on the University Website.
