Postgraduate Admission Rules for Foreign Students
- The International/Foreign students may be considered for admission (in absentia) in Master and Ph.D. degree programmes without appearing in the Entrance Test against additional seats. These seats will be in addition to NRI/OCI category seats.
- Their admission may be regulated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)/ Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), Veterinary Council of India (VCI)/ Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, New Delhi.
- The eligibility requirements for International/ Foreign students are the same as for the NRI/OCI category and general category candidates. For postgraduate programmes, the committee will consist of the Dean, Postgraduate Studies (Chairman), the Dean of the college concerned (member) and the Head of the concerned department (member).
- The International/ Foreign students seeking admission must have a valid student visa, declared medically fit after examination (as per Annexure F) by the Medical Officer authorized by the Indian Embassy in the home country of the student and they must have full medical insurance for entire period of study/stay in India.
- The International/Foreign students will be charged an Institutional Economic Fee @ US $ 2000 per year per student of SAARC country and US $ 4000 for a student from countries other than SAARC countries or as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship and as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency. The Institutional Economic Fee will be charged for the period prescribed for a particular programme.
- The Institutional Economic Fee may not be charged from the candidates admitted by the Govt. of India under certain fellowship/scholarship such as Nepal Aid Fund, Colombo Plan, Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme, General Cultural Scholarship and Cultural Technical Exchange as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship, or as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency.
- However, above candidates will have to deposit tuition fee, admission fee, hostel dues and other usual charges for the period they remain enrolled in the programme as applicable as per University rules or as per specific provisions of the scholarship/fellowship, or as amended from time to time by the sponsoring agency.
- All foreign students, who are recommended by the Govt. of India/ICAR/VCI but not financially sponsored will have to deposit admission fee, tuition fee, hostel dues and other usual charges as applicable for NRI/OCI category candidates as per University rule in US Dollars or equivalent Indian Rupee for the period they remain enrolled in the programme. Institutional economic fee will be charged as mentioned at Sr. No. v. above.
- Mode of payment of fee and other charges will be similar to NRI/OCI candidate category.
- The Nodal officer after completing all the formalities/ activities will submit the case to the committee concerned as per Sr. No. iii under intimation to the Registrar.
