Brief Introduction

   Dr. Vinod Kumar Dumka has been working as Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology for the last 32 years. He was former Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and Coordinator of Research of the University. His research areas are Pharmacokinetics, Ethnopharmacology and Toxicology. He has handled 14 research projects funded by UGC, CSIR, CCRAS, NMPB, Punjab Govt. and RKVY. He has published 112 research publications in international and national journals. He has written two books on Veterinary Toxicology and Herbal remedies and contributed chapters in four books. He has guided more than 85 masters and doctoral students as Major and minor advisor. He played key role in establishing the first Research Center for Veterinary Ayurveda in the country in collaboration with CCRAS, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India at GADVASU. He developed a medicinal plant garden at GADVASU funded by CCRAS and Medicinal plants nursery in collaboration with NMPB.
   Dr. Dumka has been an active office bearer of professional societies as joint secretary and executive committee member of Society of Toxicology of India for two consecutive terms and executive committee member of ISVPT. He was the founder, Assistant Editor of Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. He was Managing Editor followed by Editor-in-Chief of Toxicology International. He has been invited as Expert for selection of various scientific posts by different SAUs and ICAR institutes and has been nominated by the DG, ICAR as BSMA expert for framing uniform PG curriculum on veterinary paraclinical subjects throughout India.
   Dr. Dumka is recipient of several awards such as Visiting Fellowship of the Indian National Science Academy, Young Scientist Award and Best Extempore Award of ISVPT and fifteen times Best Paper Awards in various national conferences. He has been honoured as Fellow of Indian Society of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology and Fellow of Society of Toxicology of India.
