Dr. Prahalad Singh Tanwar, joined as Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barnala, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana on 9th April 2013 and was promoted as Associate Director (Training) in April 2016. He completed his B.Sc. (Ag.) and Master’s degree from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner in 1991 and 1995 respectively and obtained Ph.D in 2009 from CCS University, Meerut. His field of specialization is livestock production and management. He has an experience of over 24 years serving in Krishi Vigyan Kendras including nearly 11 years as Programme Coordinator /Deputy Director/ Associate Director in Krishi Vigyan Kendras. He received University Gold medal during Master’s degree and Achiever award 2011 from the Society for Advancement of Human and Nature (SADHNA), Solan, H.P. for significant contribution for the farming community. He also earned Mid-Career award in 2017 from the Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Extension (SVAHE), Ludhiana. Dr. Tanwar was awarded with the Best extension worker award in 2017 by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana for excellent work in the field of Animal Husbandry Extension. He has 50 original research papers in NAAS rated journals, 2 books, 3 training manuals, 12 technical bulletins and 61 extension articles to his credit. He has also presented 21 research papers in international conferences/ world conferences/ seminars. He has also Prepared 44 folder and leaflets in simple Punjabi language for farmers.
