Dr. Balbir Singh Khadda is presently serving as Deputy Director (Training) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar. He obtained his B.Sc. Ag. (Hons) from SKRAU, Bikaner, M.Sc. (Animal Husbandry) from MPUA&T, Udaipur and Ph.D. (Livestock Production Management) from GBPUA&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. He has been working on different aspects of Animal Husbandry for the last 22 years. Dr. Khadda has worked extensively on standardization of production technologies for enhancing the productivity of Cattle, Buffalo, Goat and Poultry and popularizing them among the livestock keepers of the region through trainings, On Farm Trails, demonstrations, field days, advisory service, diagnostic visits, kisan melas, exhibitions, radio talks and mass media etc. Besides, he has worked in 17 externally funded research projects. His notable contributions include 84 research articles in national and international journals of repute, 4 books, 69 papers presented in seminars/ symposia, 31 extension articles, 12 bulletins, 12 extension folders, 9 book chapters, 5 training manuals and 2 compendiums. He has received best oral and poster presentation awards (9 times) for presenting research papers during Seminars/ Conferences/ Symposia. He has received several awards, recognitions and fellowships including work appreciation award - 2018 by Gujarat State Administration, Best Ph.D. Thesis award, AIASA-Fellowship award, Young Scientist Award-2014 and 2016, Distinguished Scientist Award-2016, Scientist of the year Award-2017, Krishi Vigyan Gourav Award-2017, Best KVK Scientist Award-2020, Harit Puraskar-2020, Outstanding achievement award-2022, etc. He is a sitting member to many professional societies and editor of NAAS rated journals. Dr. Khadda has organized 3 National seminars and 4 International seminars (as organizing secretary convener/ member). He has chaired many sessions in national/ International conferences. He has also delivered numerous radio-talks to create awareness on relevant issues in agriculture and animal husbandry.
