In case of an outbreak of any disease among dairy animals, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU), Ludhiana is bringing out services of Veterinary experts at the door steps of needy dairy farmers.Revealing the information, Dr Charan Kamal Singh, In-Charge, Animal Disease Research Centre (ADRC), GADVASU, Ludhiana said that after the dairy farmer got the initial medication from the local Veterinarian, if the problem is not resolved and if there is greater involvement of more number of animals or the animals, unfortunately, happen to die, then GADVASU shall come to the rescue of such farmers. Such dairy farmers are welcome to get directly in touch with Animal Disease Research Centre at GADVASU, Ludhiana. Dwelling into the preparedness of GADVASU to handle such situation, Dr Singh said that GADVASU, Ludhiana had made elaborate arrangements to meet the exigency of such situations during working as well as non-working days.
The team comprising of experts is constituted for each outbreak. This team outreaches to the affected dairy farmer on university ambulance, well-equipped with materials and tools for collection of requisite samples from the affected animals. The ambiguities in the minds of dairy farmers are resolved there and then. The informative literature published by GADVASU is also distributed by the visiting
team.
As the team reaches back to university, the clinical samples collected from the affected animals are promptly sent to the relevant laboratories, tests are conducted on top priority and reports are immediately dispatched with information to the local veterinarian.
