A team of faculty members and students from Livestock Production Management (LPM) discipline of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary And Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana participated in International Livestock Conference & Expo-cum-23rd Annual Convention of Indian Society for Animal Production and Management (ISAPM) at Hyderabad organized by ISAPM. A unique feature of the conference was a workshop on Livestock Business Opportunities in India and Abroad was held on Day 1 which set the tone of the entire conference.
In the inaugural session, Dr. S S Nagra Ex-Professor-cum-Head, LPM at GADVASU and now working as 
Director Instruction with CAU, Imphal was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award for his activities for the growth of the society. Dr. A.L. Saini, Professor-cum-Head, LPM was unanimously bestowed with the honor to lead the society for next two years as ‘President’. This society has more than 1200 life members and the task is very challenging. Dr. Nagra and Dr. Saini Chaired and Co-chaired, respectively the session on Veterinary Education – Indian and Global Prospective. Dr. Saini also presented lead paper on “Reforms and Challenges in Veterinary Education to the Need of Indian Livestock Farming and Industry” which was profusely appreciated. Drs. Yashpal Singh and Mandeep Singla were co-authors of this paper. Four book papers on Dry Cow Therapy, Welfare of Farm Animals, Livestock Waste Management and Animal Housing by Drs. Saini, Sandeep Kaswan, Yashpal Singh, Chandrahas, Rakesh Sharma, Daljeet Kaur and Singla were contributed in the book entitled “Livestock Production Under Diverse Constraints –Indian Experience in its Management” Edited by NSR Sastry. They also contributed 10 research abstracts in different scientific sessions. Two presentations entitled “Economics of Raising Beetal Kids with Different Floor Space Allowances under Stall-Fed Conditions” by Drs. Ankaj Thakur, D.S. Malik, Kaswan and Saini in technical session on Value Addition, Post Production Technologies & Economics; and Application of Acidifier for Enhancement of Litter Quality and Broiler Performance by Drs. S.P. Sahoo, Daljeet, A.P. S. Sethi and Amit Sharma in technical session on Precisions on Livestock Farming were adjudged as the best oral presentations in their respective sessions.
