Dr Mamta Pandey, PhD student, School of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana bagged the prestigious "ISVIB- GADVASU WOMEN SCIENTIST AWARD-2015" for her outstanding research. Her presentation was entitled “Erythroblastic Leukemia Viral Oncogene Homolog 2 (ErbB2) as a diagnostic biomarker of canine mammary carcinomas” authored by Mamta Pandey, B.V. Sunil Kumar, Kanika Mahajan and Ramneek Verma at XXII Annual Convention of Indian Society for Veterinary Immunology and Biotechnology and National Symposium on immunomics and proteogenomics in livestock health and productivity (VIBCON-2015) held at ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar, Haryana. The symposium was attended by more than 400 delegates both from India and abroad.
She was also conferred by “BEST PAPER AWARD” in the same year at National Seminar on “Translational research in biotechnology for improving animal health and productivity” and 3rd Annual Meeting of Society for Veterinary Science and Biotechnology held at Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, Rajasthan in the month of October, 2015 for her research work on “Evaluation of mammaglobin as a diagnostic serum marker of complex canine mammary carcinomas” authored by Mamta Pandey, B.V. Sunil Kumar and Ramneek Verma.
These award winning research works are part of her PhD research carried out in Animal Biotechnology at School of Animal Biotechnology, GADVASU under the guidance of Professor Dr. Ramneek. Dr Mamta attributes her success, in addition to her hard work, to her parents, teachers, the congenial atmosphere and the training she obtained in the department. She was also thankful to Department of Science and Technology for providing INSPIRE fellowship in her Ph. D. tenure. Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean Postgraduate Studies, congratulated her for bringing name to the School and University and advised other students to emulate her path of attaining excellence.
