Dr. Hari Mohan Saxena, Professor of Immunology at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana chaired a scientific session at the recently concluded Indo Global Vaccines Summit organized by the Omics International at Hyderabad. Dr. Saxena presented an invited paper on new Marker Vaccine and DIVA assays for Hemorrhagic Septicemia (co-authored by Dr. Sabia Qureshi) at a session chaired by Padma Bhushan Dr. G P Talwar, founder and former Director of the National Institute of Immunology. Dr. Talwar felicitated Dr. Saxena with a certificate of recognition for his speech.
Dr. Saxena also presented another invited paper on Bacteriophage based diagnostics for Brucellosis (co-authored by Dr. Vimlesh Gupta) at the Indo Global Veterinary Summit organized by the Omics International at Hyderabad. He was also invited to judge a poster competition at the summit.
Dr. Naresh Sood, Professor of Pathology at GADVASU delivered the inaugural key note address entitled ‘Canine mammary tumor as a model for breast cancer: An overview’ during the conclave. The conference focused on the theme “Recent Approaches in Veterinary Welfare and Economics”. The conference was successful in gathering eminent speakers from various reputed organizations and their paramount talks enlightened the gathering. The Keynote sessions highlighted the current challenges, issues, opportunities, innovations and ideas in all the fields of Veterinary. He also conducted a workshop on ‘Laboratory diagnosis of immune-mediated hemolytic anemia’, which was highly appreciated. Moreover, Dr. N K Sood co-chaired the inaugural session during the meet. Both the summits were attended by eminent scientists and delegates from India and abroad who appreciated the cutting edge research being done at GADVASU.
