One act plays on different issues of life were showcased in the ongoing youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. Evening session was reserved for theatrical events. Whereas one act plays showcased the miserable conditions of women’s life they also highlighted the cross border tension. Pali Bhupinder’s written play ‘Mitti da Bawa’ addressed the issue of cross border tension and woes of soldiers of both the countries. Play ‘Kudesan’ written by Jatinder Brar highlighted the problem of female trafficking. It addressed the miseries and atrocities faced by a sold woman. Play ‘Katha Kashmir’ written by Dr. Sahib Singh showcased the problem of terrorism in Kashmir. The story depicted that how a patriotic but common man is facing the burns of this rigorous problem. Play ‘Sada Jagon Seer Mukya’ written by Navnindra Behal’ highlighted the debt ridden peasantry’s problems. How the vicious cycle of troubles of a tiller ruined a happy family. Play ‘Us nu Kahin’ written by Pali Bhupinder addressed the mentality of British ruler and his policy of divide and rule.
The venue of these events was open air theater PAU. At the end of today’s events Trophies and Certificates were presented to all the winners. Dr Harjit Singh Dhaliwal, Director, PAMETI was chief guest of the session. He along with Dr. Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, DSW PAU, Dr. SPS Sangha, DSW GADVASU, Dr Baljit Singh associate dean research and Prof. Amarjit Singh Grewal gave away the prizes to winners. Renowned Punjabi Singer Dr Sukhnain mesmerized audience with his performance. Dr. Darshan Barri, organizing secretary revealed the results of different performances.
