Week long inter-college youth Festival of Vet. Varsity concluded with a note of gaiety. Dr Surinder Kalia. IPS, DIG, Ludhiana, was Chief Guest on this occasion whereas Dr. AS Nanda, Vice-Chancellor Presided over the Function. Youth Festival was started on 31st October onward under the able guidance of Dr. Satinder Pal Singh Sangha DSW Cum EO of GADVASU. Dr Rashpal Singh Bajwa, Dr. Harjit Singh Dhaliwal, Dr. Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr Baljeet Singh Gill Associate Dean, University of Saskatchewan were guest of honour.
Dr. Darshan Singh Barri organizing secretary said that there was competition of about 30 events. about 200 students participated in this youth festival. Three in Campus Colleges, College of Fisheries, College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology Participated alongwith, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda and Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar. Students pageanted their art in different fields like Fine Arts, Theatre, Singing, Dances and Literary events. A renowned Sufi Singer Kanwar Grewal enthralled the audience with his songs on important issues of society. Singer Gurwinder Brar and Jasbir Mehram also performed in the youth festival. Dr AS Nanda announced that from the next year two gold medals will be awarded to two best Male and Female Artists. Dr Rashpal Singh Bajwa a renowned veterinarian and Dr Darshan Singh Barri, Welfare officer, Vet Varsity deposited a sum of 1.25 lakhs each for this purpose. From interest of this amount Gold Medals will be presented.
Dr Naresh Kumar Sood, President, Dance, Drama and Music Club said that a number of important dignitaries attended the function. Students of Both the universities were in cheerful mood to attend the function. Teachers, employees and officers of GADVASU were present in good number for ceremonial treat.
