Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Majra, adopts village Dulwan Khadri

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Majra, SAS Nagar (Mohali) of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, in its efforts to provide the latest technical knowhow to the farmers and rural youth for development of self entrepreneurship in agriculture and livestock sector with integrated approach adopted village Dulwan Khadri in Block Majri, Distt. SAS Nagar (Mohali). Dr H.K.Verma, Director of Extension Education, GADVASU, Ludhiana inaugurated the village adoption ceremony. Dr Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director (Training), KVK said that this Village is selected because of the enormous response KVK received from the villagers during one day Pashu Bhalai Diwas, organized in this village. A basic survey of the village was also conducted and it was observed that there is immense scope of improvement in the socio economic status of villagers by providing the latest scientific knowledge about agriculture and livestock production to farmers of this village. Dr Verma told the villagers that university will organize Pashu Bhalai Diwas, Kisan Sammelans and other agriculture related activities on regular basis for holistic development of this village. On this occasion Dr Verma also distributed the certificates and other inputs free of cost to the 50 trainees of Dairy Farming course organized under Rashitrya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) scheme in this village by KVK, Majra. He also invited the farmers of this village to visit the forth coming Pashu Palan / Kisan Mela on 25th and 26th September at GADVASU/PAU, Ludhiana. Village sarpanch S. Survjeet Singh addressed the farmers and thanked the University for adopting village Dulwan Khadri. Ex Sarpanch S.Chinderpal Singh also assured his full support in future activities to be undertaken by the GADVASU through its KVK and appreciated the efforts being taken by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra towards development of their village.
