Three B. Tech (Dairy Technology) final year students of College of Dairy Science & Technology of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary And Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana qualified the All India Entrance Examination for Master’s Programme in Agriculture and Allied Subjects (AIEEA- PG) conducted by ICAR, New Delhi. The examination was for admission to Masters Programme and also for the award of Junior Research Fellowships. The result of the examination was declared on May 19, 2014. Rakesh achieved Ist rank at national merit list. He was very happy and excited to initiate his career in higher studies in Dairy Microbiology at National Dairy Research Institute Karnal. Another two students Mr Mukesh Kumar and Ms Manpinder Kaur who secured sixth and twentieth rank respectively are interested to pursue their masters’ programme in Dairy Technology and Dairy Chemistry respectively. Dr. V.K. Taneja, Vice Chancellor of GADVASU congratulated the successful students and expressed his happiness about the quality of education and exposure students are getting during the degree programme at GADVASU. It is worth to mention that College of Dairy Science & Technology is a newly established college of GADVASU and one of the youngest dairy science colleges in the country. However, during the short span of five years the college has managed to establish itself as one of the best centre for teaching and research in the field of Dairy Science & Technology. Dr. S.P.S. Sangha, Dean of the College of Dairy Science & Technology also congratulated and extended his good wishes to students in their future endeavour. He told that this year third consecutive batch of B. Tech (Dairy Technology) students is passing out from the college and during these three years every time students of this college have not only qualified the examination but also managed to secure top ranks at national level examination conducted by ICAR, New Delhi. Glad Dr. Sangha said that our continuous excellent results speak itself about the quality of education being imparted to students. He also congratulated the faculty of the college who work very hard in teaching and training of students and making them best one among their peers. Dairy and food processing is considered as the sunrise sector in India having lots of untapped potential. Besides career in higher studies, after completing their B. Tech (Dairy Technology) programme students can also get job opportunities in dairy plants under cooperative and private sector, national and multinational food processing industries, food ingredients industries etc.
