On the occasion of the foundation day of Guru Angad Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana the Vice-Chancellor Dr. V.K. Taneja inaugurated the free anti rabies vaccination camp for dogs at the small animal clinics. Dr. P.S.Mavi, HOD Veterinary Clinical Complex said that more than 100 dogs were vaccinated against rabies free of cost and dewormed. Dr. Taneja also inaugurated the new Obstetric section for large animal in the Dept. of teaching vety. clinical complex where all the operations related to reproduction i.e. faetotomy, caesarean sections will be conducted with all modern facilities. New hydraulic operation table of this section requires 50% less persons to restrain the cow/buffalo for operation.
Dr. Taneja said that the functioning of this obstetric section, with latest facilities will definitely enhance the survival rate of the animals after delivery. It will improve the production and reproduction of the dairy animals thus improving the financial condition of the dairy farmer. Dr. P.D. Juyal, Registrar, Dr. S.N.S. Randhawa, Director Research, Dr. H.S. Sandhu, Dean College of veterinary science, Dr. S.P.S. Sangha, DSW cum EO, Dr. R.S. Sahota, Director Extension Education, Dr. Asha Dhawan, Dean College of Fisheries, Dr. S. Prabhakar, Controller of Examinations and HOD’s of different departments were also attended the function.
