Dr. Baljinder Kumar Bansal, Professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Medicine, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has been awarded with the prestigious “ISVM Fellow Award” by the Indian Society for Veterinary Medicine (ISVM) during the 32nd Annual Conference of ISVM held at College of Veterinary Science, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu(SKAUST). Dr. Bansal has made significant contribution to management of udder health and milk quality in dairy animals. He has handled more than 15 research projects during his service and presently contributing to 05 extramural projects funded by Department of Science and Technology, ICAR, UGC, Punjab Farmers Commission and Pharmaceutical Industry. He has published 78 research papers, 32 invited lectures, 20 popular articles and presented more than 80 research papers at 20 international and 32 national symposia/conferences. Dr. Bansal is recipient of Fellowship of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences, India and German Academic Exchange Service post doctoral fellowship. He has also been awarded with D.C. Blood Gold Medal in 2005 and Shri Mathunga Jain Goraksha Mandali Gold Medal in 2008 by the ISVM for his best contribution in the field of veterinary medicine.
Other scientists from the university Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Dr. Raj Sukhbir Singh, Dr. Sikh Tajinder Singh and Dr.Sujata have bagged the best paper presentation awards. Dr. B K Bansal and Dr. S K Uppal chaired the technical sessions during the conference.
