While remembering Dr. B. R. Ambedkar & Martyrs of freedom struggle Dr. V. K. Taneja Vice Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University extended his congratulation on 65th Republic day of country. Dr. Taneja unfurled the National Flag and highlighted the importance and spirit of the Indian Constitution for the development and prosperity of people. R&V Sqn. NCC cadets of GADVASU presented the guard of Honour Dr. Taneja shared the details of University activities in the last 8 years since its emancipation. He explained the new commitments of the University in the present Year. He said that to strengthen veterinary human resources Punjab Government has decided to establish a new veterinary college at Rampura Phul in Bathinda District.
Explaining details of last years’ achievements he specially mentioned the MoUs with NDRI Karnal, National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner and ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga for exchange of academic information and research. Dr. Taneja mentioned that 18 new projects were earned from various research agencies. Dr. Taneja explained about the establishment of corpus fund of university to strengthen the research programme. He said that varsity transferred technologies for egg jam, ready to eat meat snacks and emu meat products to entrepreneurs. Herbal teat dip for the prevention of bovine mastitis and herbal ointment for wound management in animals have been tested successfully. He mentioned the achievements of students in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.
He explained the important achievements of teachers and students in the field of Education, Sports & Cultural activities. Students & invited artists filled colours, emotions and rhythm with their performances in the function. Officers, Teachers, Employees and students of the University attended the function enthusiastically.
