Tree plantation drive with theme “My Earth- My Duty” was celebrated at 1 Pb. R & V NCC Sqn of College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University ( GADVASU ), Ludhiana. Dr. Satinder Pal Singh Sangha, DSW cum EO was chief guest for the occasion. Dr. Sangha motivated the cadets for making our society an eco – friendly society. He appreciated this sacred cause of student community. He said that if youth will take the responsibility of this duty we can save our mother earth to become a barren piece of land. He said that we should plant long lasting trees that will cater to our future generations. Tree is the only companion of human who provide his services from cradle to pyre. Lt. Col. Narender Singh, Officer Commanding, 1 Pb. R & V NCC Sqn was also present at the occasion and he informed that unit is regularly organizing such kind of awareness drives for the cadets to make them conscious regarding their surroundings. Dr. SS Sodhi and Dr. Nitin Dev, Care Taker Officers of the unit were also present at the occasion. Dr. Sodhi appraised that students are taking keen interest in such activities. He revealed that about 50 saplings of Cycus, Kanakchampa, Arjun, Kachnar and Bagehra were planted. He further informed that apart from this, cadets are also being exposed to the other activities like poster making, debates and paper reading contests etc and all these activities are organized under the aegis of Ludhiana Group Head Quarter.
