Twin Knowledge Up gradation Trainings concluded at GADVASU

Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education (GADVASU) , Ludhiana organized the third knowledge Upgradation Programme for Dairy Farmers of Gujrat, Bihar, Jharkand, Rajasthan ,Haryana and Punjab from 1st to 5th August 2011. It is worth mentioning here that GADVASU is going to organize series of such training programmes for farmers and veterinary officers of the country with the financial back up from Indian Immunological Limited, Hyderabad. Mr CH. Srinivasa Sastry, Customer Relations Manager, Indian Immunologicals reach especially to buck up the farmers and field officers . Mr Srinivasan said that that the company is striving its best to upgrade the scientific knowledge of the dairy farmers –the end users of the country. Thirty five farmers of Gujrat, Bihar,Jharkand, Rajasthan ,Haryana and Punjab State participated  in this training programme in which, information regarding milch breeds of animals, balanced feeding of dairy animals, housing, vaccination, deworming, infertility problems, right time of insemination, , clean milk production, marketing of milk and milk products were provided  to the farmers.One week training programme was coordinated by Drs RK Sharma and Jaswinder Singh which concluded today. In the end, an evaluation of the course was done by a short test and two farmers namely Satyajit Pal of Bilwara and Lal Mohan of Bihar were awarded Best Participant Award by Dr HK Verma and Dr RS Sahota. Such type of appreciation will bring healthy competition among the participants. All the participants who underwent this training were highly appreciative of the course structure, the state of art facility and the high quality of training imparted during the programme. They were very impressed by seeing the Punjab livestock farmer’s status and condition of their animals during their visit to progressive farmers.

Parallel Two week training programme on “Specialized Training Course” started on 25/7/11 concluded today on 5.8.2011. Twenty eight farmers from different nook and corner of the state participated in the training. Dr HK Verma, Head, Department of Animal Husbandry Extension Education mention here that the Department is continuously organizing training programmes on dairy , piggery , goat, poultry, rabbit and fish farming and also tailor made training programmes as per demand. Further, Dr Verma told that due to many option in livestock farming, it is the best viable option for self employment for the unemployed youth. One can start with little inputs farming like goat; poultry to large input farming like dairy farming after getting basic training on these farming’s from Veterinary varsity. Dr Verma revealed that the participants were very progressive and enthusiastic to know more about the scientific knowledge about dairy farming. All the participants showed keen interest to procure the university literature. Dr KS Sandhu, Director Extension Education, GADVASU revealed that in this progressive age one must equip himself with latest know how of various entrepreneurship including livestock farming. He appreciated the Indian immunological efforts to get the Indian farmers trained with latest knowledge.
