Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana has started admission process for admission to all the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes running in the Constituent/Affiliated Colleges of the University for the year 2011-12. The prospectuses, containing the details of admission procedure, are available for sale at College of Veterinary Sciences. The last date for receipt of application forms for Undergraduate programmes without late fee is 16th May 2011 and that of Master’s programme is 30th June 2011. GADVASU, Registrar Dr. P.D.Juyal informed that the courses for which the applications have been invited are B.V.Sc.& A.H., B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fishery Sciences) and B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) at Undergraduate level for which the Common Entrance Test will be conducted by the University on 22nd June 2011 and M.V.Sc., M.V.Sc./M.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology) and M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture) at Master’s level for which admission will be made on merit basis.
Dr. S.P.S.Sangha, Dean, College of Dairy Science & Technology informed that from the current session, nominees from the other states for admission to B.Tech.(Dairy Technology) for two additional seats will also be considered where no College of Dairy Science exists. Dr. Juyal also informed that at Master’s level in Veterinary, Animal Biotechnology and Fisheries if the seats fall vacant, after filling the seats from Punjab Domicile on 1st counselling, the candidates of other states, who have already applied for admission to PG programme, will be eligible for admission on merit basis at the 2nd counselling of PG programme.
According to Dr. Juyal, being professional and job oriented courses, these are in great demand and the candidates are interested in taking admission to these courses. In view of the demand of veterinarians, GADVASU has given affiliation to two private veterinary colleges in the state. More students are likely to enroll for all the courses especially for animal biotechnology in this University.
