ANTIRABIES VACCINATION CAMP FOR PETS

College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana organized Anti-rabies vaccination and Deworming camp for pets at Small Animal Clinics of the University today on 30-12-2009 . The camp was inaugurated by  Dr SS Sangha, Dean of the College .It is worth mentioning here that Dr P.K. Verma ,alumnus of the Veterinary College presently settled abroad sponsored this camp .Dr PK Verma is currently running a  “Niagra Pet Hospital” at Toronto, Canada. During this occasion Dr SK Uppal, Head, Veterinary Clinical Complex, Dr VK Gandotra, Head, Veterinary Gynecology and Obstetrics, Dr HK Verma, Head, Dept of Veterinary Extension Education, Dr NS Saini , Head Dept of Veterinary & Surgery, Dr BK Bansal , Head, Veterinary Medicine, Dr JPS Gill, Head, Dept of Veterinary Public Health along with other faculty members of the college were also there. On this occasion about 89 pet owners got their pet vaccinated and dewormed. Dr Sangha appreciated Dr PK Verma’s effort and commitment towards his homeland. Dr PK Verma told that he is highly thankful to the University for giving him this opportunity. He held interactive discussion with the GADVASU clinicians. Dr HK Verma told that GADVASU is working hard to make the people aware about scientific rearing of their animals for the benefit of pet owners, livestock owners and humanity in total .For this Varsity is continuously organizing   awareness campaigns through organizing such types of camps for pet as well as for large animals, field days, pashu palan melas, trainings, literature etc. For organizing such type of camp one can contact at telephone No. 0161-2414005.
