A Five day Training Programmer for Army Personnel on Dairy Farming started today on 18.05.09 at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU) Ludhiana. A Total of 14 Army Personnel from different Military farms of India Viz Meerut, Pune, Srinagar, Kolkata, Nowshera, Ahmednagar, along with one incharge registered themselves for the Training Dr. O.S. Parmer. Director Extension Education, GADVASU inaugurate the training Programme. In his inaugural address he welcomed the trainee & revealed that Dairy sector is growing very fast and to sustain it we have to adopt the scientific management practices, uses the pedigreed sire semen, health management and vaccination. Dr K.S. Dosanjh, Head, Dept of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension said that the training will cover breeds, breeding policies, shelter management, embryo transfer technologies and methods of clean milk productions. He further revealed that a visit to progressive dairy farm will also be arranged for the trainee to show them the practices adopted by the Punjab dairy farmers. Dr R.S. Sahota Professor, Dept of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension and Coordinator of the training will assured the trainee to give them the maximum knowledge they have in this stipulated time periods.
