Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran organizes a vocational training on

 Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran lined up a vocational training on "Value addition of milk products" under RKVY-09 from 23 to 27 October, 2017 at Munda Pind, Block Chohla Sahib, District- Tarn Taran. About 26 farm women actively participated in the programme. While conducting this activity, Dr Balwinder Kumar, Deputy Director (T), KVK, Tarn Taran delivered an inaugural lecture and informed the participants about the importance of milk products in our daily life. This five days programme was coordinated by Piverjeet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant Professor and delivered a lecture focused on nutritional profile of various milk products. Further, Nirmal Singh, Assistant Professor explained about the implications of different value addition techniques through incorporating food and vegetables into milk products. Dairy scientists Dr. Amanadeep Sharma and Dr. Nitika Goyal from College of Dairy Science and Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana laid the emphasis to follow the standard methods of products development from the milk. Similarly, they made the trainees aware about the contribution of mechanization in the procurement of milk products. Piverjeet Kaur Dhillon demonstrated the zero waste integrated food processing units to the beneficiaries in order to generate income by recycling the household waste. An exposure visit was organised at the Dairy Plant, College of Dairy Science and Technology, GADVASU, Ludhiana with an objective to expose the farm women towards hand on experiential learning. During the visit Dr. Harish Kumar Verma, Director Extension Education, GADVASU while addressing the trainees gave message of "Women Empowerment" and appreciated the effort of farm women for showing their keen interest in establishment of small scale venture related to milk. Trainees applauded the efforts of KVK for imparting vocational training at their village. In the concluding session of the event Dr. Anil Kumar appealed the beneficiaries to get associated with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tarn Taran for further amelioration. Piverjeet Kaur Dhillon thanked all the trainees for sparing their valuable time to conduct this programme.
