The cadets of 1 Pb R&V SQN NCC, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana carried out a tree plantation drive in the premises of the NCC Unit. The cadets were told about the importance of tree plantation. Col. N.S. Nara, said that the Commanding Officer of the Unit said that the growing dangerous scenario of climate change which is taking place due to deforestation and increasing modernisation is very fatal. Human beings are cutting down the forests which is leading to soil erosion and ecological imbalance, which is leading frequent disasters like floods etc. The cadets were motivated to plant more and more trees so that our environment will remain protected and as a youth the cadets should lead by example. They should also motivate others to plant trees. The saplings were provided by Directorate of Students Welfare, GADVASU., Lt. Dr. Nitin Dev Singh, Associate NCC Officer, Dr. P.P. Dubey, Caretaker Officer and staff of the NCC Unit were present on the occasion.
