GADVASU Para-Veterinary Diploma course is in high demand

Milkfed, Punjab has recruited 45 students of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana as ‘Management Trainees’ against the posts of Milk Procurement Assistant. This information was revealed by Dr. Amarjit Singh Placement-cum-Liaison Officer of Vet Varsity. He said that this appointment will be for a period of two years and after the completion of 2nd year, they will be evaluated for placing in regular pay scale. However, the selected candidates would have to work for a minimum period of 3 years including 2 years as trainees. These students are doing Diploma in Veterinary Science and Animal health technology.
Dr Amarjit Singh said that Milkfed more popular with its brand name ‘Verka’ is the cooperative establishment in the Punjab, to cater to the milk and milk products which is need of the public as well as assured market to the milk producers. To strengthen the technical man power for milk procurement, Milkfed conducted campus recruitment at GADVASU Campus, Ludhiana to select the management trainees. The selected management trainees shall be allocated to different district level milk unions/Verka Dairies (Verka Milk Plants). Dr. H K Verma, Director of Extension Education and Controller of the Veterinary Polytechnic revealed that Vet Varsity is running a two year diploma course at Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda, which is the programme to produce the human resources as ‘Para Veterinarians’ to help and support the veterinarians in prophylaxis and health aspects as well as in farm management.
