The Department of Veterinary Pathology of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has achieved another milestone in the form of recognition of Department to set up a Centre of Advanced faculty training facility (CAFT)- Veterinary Pathology. Dr. H.S. Banga, Professor cum Head informed that this was conferred by Indian Council of Agricultural Research in recognition of highest standard of professional training and competency to faculty in field of veterinary Pathology which perform extra-ordinary at Trans-India level.
The Department of Veterinary Pathology, GADVASU would now be a front runner in imparting two professional training programme on an annual basis to faculty members getting trained in latest diagnostic aspects under the ambit of CAFT. The department will play a paramount role in generation of Human Resource/ Capacity building measures in the field of Veterinary Pathology.
Dr. Banga opined that, this premium recognition is a mark of dedication and hard work constantly being put up by the faculty member of the Department over the period of years since inception. Further, is also an act to upbeat the competitive platform at various levels shown by faculty members. Earlier, the department has earned several research projects to the tune of Rs 1.5 Crore, which are currently in progress, from various Research funding agencies like SERB (DST), DBT, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India.Dr. Banga acknowledged the tremendous support from the university administration on winning this mega project.
Expressing happiness over the success attained by the department, Dr. A.S. Nanda, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU has extended his heartfelt congratulation to the entire faculty and further expressed hope that the entailing facilities to be introduced through this CAFT at Veterinary Pathology would be a lifelong academic asset to the University as well as to the region. It would be noteworthy to mention here that, GADVASU is already having two such CAFT in Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology and Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, thus speaks volume of its scientific achievements at both national and international level.
