Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SAS Nagar (Mohali) organized a five days vocational training course on Goat Farming at its 
campus from 21-28 Feb, 2017. Thirty one farmers participated in this training course which focused on modern and scientific goat rearing practices. Dr. 
Randhir Singh, Assistant Professor, Livestock Production delivered lecture on goat breeds and their characteristics, deworming and vaccination scheduled and various diseases and their management, prevention in goats. Farmers were also shown documentaries on various aspects of goat farming.
Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director gave lecture on housing, management of kids and marketing of goats. Dr. Jaspal Singh Hundal, Assistant professor, Animal Nutrition GADVASU, Ludhiana gave detailed information about balanced feed formulation for different age group of goats. Dr. Khushpreet Singh, Assistant Professor gave lecture on various gynecological problems in goats. Dr. Vikas Phulia, Assistant Professor, Fisheries delivered lecture on integration of fish farming with goatry. In the concluding session trainee farmers were distributed certificates and books in Punjabi language on goat farming book.
