While remembering Dr. B. R. Ambedkar & Martyrs of freedom struggle Dr. Amarjit Singh Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University extended his congratulation on 67th Republic day of country. Dr. Nanda unfurled the National Flag and highlighted the importance and spirit of the Indian Constitution for the development and prosperity of people. R&V Sqn. NCC cadets of GADVASU presented the guard of Honour Dr. Nanda shared the details of different programmes of the university. He said that ‘One Health’ Programme is an important issue of the public health. It is concerned with each human, animal and environment. While revealing the importance of Animal Sector he said that India is highest producer of milk in the world. He said that we should address the environment related issues in connection with the animals also. A Veterinarian may play an important role on this aspect. He revealed that GADVASU has achieved an international fame after its emancipation. He told that in the last year university earned 21 research projects to the tune of Rs. 33 crores from different research bodies. 6 MoUs were signed with institutes of different countries. Dr. Nanda said that we are developing a Skill Development Centre at University to strengthen extension services of the institute. We are developing extension services in such a manner that this will enrich services to the livestock farmers of the state in a holistic way he added. Dr. Mandeep Singh Bal, Assitant Prof. was honored with his team for his notable services in the field of plantation and environment. Students were also honored for their achievements in different extra mural and sports activities. Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean PG and DSW extended vote of thanks to the august gathering.
Students & invited artists filled colours, emotions and rhythm with their performances in the function. Officers, Teachers, Employees and students of the University attended the function enthusiastically.
