Week long inter-college youth Festival of Vet. Varsity concluded with a note of gaiety. Sh. Ravi Bhagat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, was Chief Guest on this occasion whereas Dr. AS Nanda, Vice-Chancellor Presided over the Function. Youth Festival was started on 22nd October onward under the able guidance of Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW Cum EO of GADVASU. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, Dr. Harjit Singh Dhaliwal, Director, PAMETI and Dr. Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, DSW, PAU were guest of honour.
Dr. Darshan Singh Barri organizing secretary said that there was competition of about 30 events. about 200 students participated in this youth festival. Three in Campus Colleges, College of Fisheries, College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology Participated alongwith, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda and Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar. Students pageanted their art in different fields like Fine Arts, Theatre, Singing, Dances and Literary events. A renowned Punjabi Singer Ranjit Bawa, enthralled the audience with his songs on important issues of society. Popular singers, Sukhwinder Sukhi, Veer Sukhwant, Gurdeep and Navinder also performed in the youth festival. Two gold medal awards were also conferred on to Best Artist Male as well as Female. These awards were established on the name of Dr Rachhpal Singh Bajwa a renowned veterinarian and Dr Darshan Singh Barri, Welfare officer, Vet Varsity.
Dr Naresh Kumar Sood, President, Dance, Drama and Music Club said that a number of important dignitaries attended the function. Students of Both the universities were in cheerful mood to attend the function. Teachers, employees and officers of GADVASU were present in good number for ceremonial treat.
