Students of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana secured trophies in Table tennis, Basketball and Athletics in the recently concluded XVIth All India Inter Agricultural Sports and Games Meet held at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Dr. APS Brar, contingent in charge told that 56 teams consisting of Agricultural and Veterinary Universities and other institutes of ICAR took part in this prestigious tournament. GADVASU's Table Tennis team consisting of Gaurav Sharma, Guranshpreet Singh Sethi, Ankit Ahuja and Dinesh Thakur clinched gold after defeating team of Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU), Gujrat in the final. This was 5TH consecutive Gold medal of GADVASU in the last five years. Basketball team of GADVASU remained runners up. Dr. Brar said that In Athletics, Arshdeep Singh Kailay was declared the fastest athlete of the meet after winning 100 meters sprint. Simardeep Singh Toor and Prabhjot Singh won gold and silver medals respectively in Shotput event. In the Prize distribution function, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Physical education and sports University Chennai, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Ambedkar Law University Chennai and Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Coimbatore were present. Dr.A.S. Nanda Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU, lauded the Athletes for their achievements. Dr. SPS Sangha, Derector Students’ welfare and Dr. Simrat Sagrar Singh Dean PGS, felicitated the students for their hard work and bringing laurels to the institute.
