Department of Animal Nutrition, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana is going to organize a five day hands-on training programme from 11-15 Jan, 2016 on practical aspects of Animal Nutrition for the farmers of Punjab. In this training programme education will be provided on the Role of Fodder in animal production with demonstration on hay and silage making, role of minerals in animals with demonstration on preparation of Mineral Mixture and Urea Molasses Mineral Block. Urea utilization in ruminants with demonstration on Natural Fermentation Technology of straws and stovers and role of Bypass nutrients in ruminants with demonstration of preparation of By-Pass-Fat and By-Pass-Protein will be discussed. The hands-on-training on formulation of rations for different categories of dairy animals’ viz. calves, heifers, cows, buffaloes, sheep, goat etc. will also be conducted. In this programme farmers will learn about various animal feed technologies by doing practical with their own hand. Dr Manju Wadhwa, Course Director and Head of the department informed that this programme will be helpful for the entrepreneurship development and the programme is designed as per the demand and requirement of the farmers.
