Veterinary University organizes International Workshop

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana in collaboration with Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon (Canada) is organizing an International Workshop on “Advanced Clinical Procedures in Veterinary Practice” from 3rd to 7th November, 2015. Veterinary University, Ludhiana has signed MoU with the University of Saskatchewan and the workshop is in line with that.  The workshop involves lectures and hands on training in advanced clinical procedures on the animals.  The speakers included world renowned authorities in the field of Veterinary Medicine,Surgery and Microbiology.  Over 150 participants are attending the workshop. Dr. Baljit Singh, Associate Dean Research, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon (Canada) delivered lecture on ‘Best Practices’ in graduate student supervision. The lecture was thought provoking for faculty and PG students.  Dr. Matthew Casey Gaunt, Associate Professor, University of Saskatchewan, will deliver his talk on critical care medicine and endosc

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. A. S. Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of GADVASU.Dr. Nanda said that good number of workshops have been organized in India and Canada by both Universities.  This is the first workshop on Clinical Practices.   He opined that this workshop will go a long way in strengthening clinical expertise as well as research between the two Universities. Dr.Nanda said that it will ultimately help the ailing animals of the state and animal productivity will be enhanced.  Moreover, the wholesome good quality produce will be available to the masses which will provide economic stability to the farmers and on other hand healthy food for the public.  Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean, Postgraduate Studies welcomed all the guests.  He reiterated that this University has great strength in number and variety of clinical case load and provides advanced clinical facilities to farmers and pet owners.  Dr. S. N. S. Randhawa, Director of Research whereas coordinated workshop and hoped that it will be helpful for the PG students as well as strengthen clinical collaboration and research in clinical and translational fields.
