Dr (Col) Paramjit Singh Mavi Prof Deptt of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (TVCC) Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University was awarded the fellowship of the Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice (ISCAP)in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Veterinary profession and Canine Practice. Symposium on “Challenges in Diagnosis and Management of Emerging Diseases of Canine was held at Allahabad. Justice Mr Arun Tandon UP High Court, Allahabad and Maj Gen Shri Kant, SM, VSM (retd) Vice Chancellor, Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar conferred the fellowship. Dr Mavi is the recipient of many honors and awards like the President’s Commission, Commendation card for distinguished military service, Best Vet Alumni award, Green Governance award. He has attended more than 39 National/International conferences/seminars. Dr Mavi chaired two technical sessions i.e. canine reproduction and breeding & Plenary session. He presented a lead paper on Pet Effect on Human Health highlighting how pet animals help in reducing the stress and blood pressure in human being. Pets make us physically, mentally and socially sound contributing the overall wellness especially for the seniors and patients with cardiovascular diseases.
Dr PN Dwivedi, professor in Vety. microbiology was also awarded the fellowship of the ISCAP. He chaired the technical session on canine microbiology, virology and immunology. He presented a lead paper on post viral infection management of canines which was appreciated by all the delegates in the conference. Dr N K Sood incharge diagnostic laboratory TVCC read a lead paper on immune-mediated hemolytic anemia in dogs which is still under diagnosed problem. Dr Sood also chaired the a session on applied subjects.
