Meat Scientists of GADVASU bring laurels to the varsity

Meat scientists from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University participated in the 6th Indian Meat Science association Conference and National symposium on “Sustainable Meat Production for Nutritional security and Consumer Wellbeing” held at DUVASU, Mathura (UP). They bagged four prestigious awards during various technical sessions. Dr Om Prakash Malav and Dinesh Krofa were awarded best oral research presentation award, whereas Dr Akhilesh Verma and Dr. Manish Kumar Chatli were conferred with best poster awards.  The research and extension work being carried out in the area of Meat Science and Technology at GADVASU was appreciated during the interactions in different sessions of the conference. 

Indian Meat Science Association has given the responsibility to organize IMSACON –VII, next conference at Department of Livestock Products Technology, GADVASU, Ludhiana.
 
Dr. Manish Kumar Chatli, Professor-cum-Head, Department of Livestock Products Technology was unanimously elected as the Joint Secretary of the Indian Meat Science Association and Dr. Nitin Mehta, Asst. Professor, Dept. of LPT added to the editorial board of the Journal of Meat Science, a Prestigious journal in the discipline of Meat science which is run by Indian Meat Science Association. 
 
Department of Livestock Products Technology is going to organize Entrepreneur Development Programme in Value Added Meat Products from 29th December 2014 to 24th January, 2015. This programme is sponsored by Ministry of Food Processing and Industries and free of cost for the farmers and budding entrepreneurs.  The interested candidates can contact at Head, Department of Livestock Products Technology, College of Veterinary Science, GADVASU, Ludhiana.
