4th Youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary &Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana started today with fine arts events. Dr. Satinder Pal Singh Sangha, Director Students welfare was Chief Guest in the first session of On the Spot Painting competition. He said that youth festivals are appropriate medium of internal expression of students. We are providing good facilities to students to improve their performance. Participants are also in high spirits. Dr. Darshan Singh Barhi Organizing secretary of festival said that in today’s competition there were three events, On the Spot Painting, Poster making and Cartooning. Total 9 students participated in Painting competition, 9 in Poster making and 8 students in Cartooning. The Subjects of the On the Spot Painting competition was ‘Visible view of Nature’, for Poster Making subject was ‘Youth Festival’, ‘Social evils’, ‘Global Warming’ and for Cartooning topics were ‘Rising Prices’, ‘Elections’, ‘Corruption’.
For Poster making session Dr. H.S. Sandhu, Dean College of Veterinary Science was Chief Guest and for Cartooning Competition Dr. Asha Dhawan, Dean College of Fisheries was Chief Guest. Students expressed their thoughts on these current and important issues.
In both competitions three colleges of university named College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries, School of Animal Biotechnology participated alongwith affiliated college, Khalsa College of Veterniary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar. Dr. Barhi said that results of these competitions will be announced tomorrow with other fine arts events. Collage Making, Photography, Clay Modeling and Rangoli Making competitions will be held on 06.10.2013 at same venue, Examination Hall of College of Veterinary Science.
