GADVASU scholar attends International Summer School at Berlin

The MOU between Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) and University of Saskatchewan became more fruitful when Ms Pallvi attended ZIBI Summer School at Humboldt University Zu Berlin, Germany. Ms Pallvi is presently pursuing her PhD programme at School of Animal Biotechnology, GADVASU, Ludhiana under Dr R S Sethi and has been selected for CREATE ITraP- International Training Program in Infectious diseases, Food safety and Public Policy funded by Canadian Natural Science and Engineering Research Council, Canada. Dr Gurvinder Singh Brah, Director of the School of Animal Biotechnology elaborated that CREATE Program is being run in collaboration with University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Canada, Freie University Berlin Germany and GADVASU, Ludhiana and Pallvi was awarded DAAD Scholarship to attend the summer school.  Scholarship included international travelling, boarding and lodging. Pallvi presented a research article entitled “Microsatellite Based Polymorphism in Japanese Quails” and attended practical course on Fluorescence in-situ hybridization during this summer school. Dr SNS Randhawa, Dean, Post Graduate Studies, GADVASU congratulated Pallvi for bringing laurel to the institute and informed that the ZIBI Summer School was orginised by Dr. Juliane Kofer, Professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, ZIBI and Dr. Baljeet Singh Professor and Associate Dean, at Western college of Veterinay Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada.
