Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) has started the process for admission to Diploma in Veterinary Science and Animal Health Technology for the year 2012-13. This two-year diploma course was started in 2010 at Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda to cater the requirement of para-veterinary professionals of Punjab state. Registrar GADVASU, Dr. P. D. Juyal, informed that it is likely that this year more students will opt for the diploma, which has practical value in the field, as compared to the last year due to keen interest shown by the 10+2 (med./non-med.) pass-outs for applying to various under-graduate courses offered by University this year. Applications on the prescribed form are invited from the candidates, residing in Punjab/UT Chandigarh, fulfilling the minimum qualification 10+2 medical or non-medical from a recognized board/University. Prospectus, containing details regarding eligibility, counselling, interview, admission procedure, reservation of seats, etc., for admission to diploma can be obtained from the office of the Director of Extension Education, GADVASU, Ludhiana and Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda. Last dates for receiving the applications for diploma are 2nd July (without late fee) and 9th July (with late fee) and the counselling is scheduled to be held at the Silver Jubilee Block of College of Veterinary Science on 27th August, 2012.
