Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is doing exceptionally good job to provide better facilities to livestock community. The views were expressed by Dr. Deva Kumar ADG (ICAR). He was on visit to GADVASU to study the impact of ICAR Development Grant. Dr. Deva Kumar said that Vet. Hospital & labs. of GADVASU have state of art equipments & facilities. It is contributing in positive manners for animal health of this region. He said that GADVASU is using development grants in a rational way with right direction. Dr. Kumar visited all the three colleges of University, School of Animal Biotechnology, Library, vet. hospital , Bio Gas Plant, Poultry Farm, Milk processing plant, and Students Hostels. Dr. S.N.S Randhawa Dean Post graduate Studies coordinated the visit and explained all the minor details.
An exclusive meeting of Dr. Kumar was held with Dr. V.K. Taneja to discuss a number of points to develop GADVASU in a more structured way. Both the scientists were of the opinion that better infrastructure of university may provide more advanced facilities to the farmers. Dr. Deva Kumar was of the view that GADVASU should submit more projects to address the local and realistic problems of the region. This will improve the quality of the livestock with enhanced milk yield.
Dr. Taneja said that we have submitted some important projects along with project on Niche area in surgery to ICAR. He said that visit of Dr. Deva kumar will play a positive role for the approval of these projects as he is quite satisfied with our performance. Dr. Taneja said that we have earmarked the different problems and requirements of livestock profession in Punjab and now we are trying our best to address them.
