The third Annual Athletic meet of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was held today on 26.2.09. Students of all the three colleges of GADVASU namely college of veterinary science, college of dairy science and technology and college of fisheries were actively participated in this sport meet under different discipline being conducted at this time. Dr Daljeet Singh, Principle, DMC&H was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr VK Taneja, Vice Chancellor , GADVASU was inaugurated the meet. After unfurling the flag, Dr Taneja in his inaugural speech told that GADVASU always promote the spirit of games amongst their students to keep them healthy and in high spirit. He further appreciated the various committee member’s efforts in conducting the successful meet and wished the participants good luck. The meet started with the oath taking ceremony by the senior most athlete of the university. After inauguration ,Gidha and athlete march was performed by the students. Baloons were also released at this time as the symbol of prosperity and enthusiasm. Dr Daljeet Singh gave away the prizes to the winner and told them to do more hard work to excel in their respective field. Equestrian events were also performed by the cadets of NCC unit of GADVASU.
