Vet Varsity students unleash their creativity on paper

September 7 Expiring at: May 10

In order to bring out the creativity among the young minds, the NSS wing of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) launched a poster design competition here at campus today. Drawn on a theme of “Anti-Ragging”, the contest provided a window into the youngsters in making the varsity authorities know as to what they think about the anti-ragging measures being adopted by campus. The contest was organised by National Service Scheme unit under the guidelines of University Grants Commission.

Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students Welfare cum Estate Officer, applauded the participating students urging them to invest their time and energy in such creative things.Nidhi Sharma, NSS Programme Coordinator, GADVASU, inaugurated the competition and asserted that such events were part of a long running tradition that give students the opportunity to visualize their thoughts and give them a tangible touch using pen and paper.  Exhorting the senior students not to ruin the tradition of introductory gatherings of fresher by making it “traumatic” affair, she also advised them to stay away from any indulgence in an act that amounted to ragging as per UGC guidelines.

Dr. Sivakumar and Dr. Naveen Kumar, NSS college coordinators, informed that a total of 100 students from College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries and Schøol of Animal Biotechnology participated in the event with great enthusiasm. On the occasion as many as 80 posters were displayed dealing with the recent trend to stop ragging.

Dr. JPS Gill, Director Research and Dr. Ramneek, Director, School of Animal Biotechnology, judged the posters and declared the winners. 

The winners were, 1st Prize to Maitri Goel, 1st year, B.Tech Dairy Science student.

2nd Prize to 2nd year, Amandeep Singh, B.Tech Dairy Science student and3rd Prize to Gargi Saini, 2nd year, B.Tech Dairy Science.
