Krishi Vigyan Kendra, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) organized seven days on campus poultry farming training course. Farmers from different parts of district participated in this training course which focused on scientific approach to dairy farming. Dr. Randhir Singh, Assistant Professor (Livestock Production) provided a brief insight of poultry sector scenario in Punjab. He also gave detailed information on different poultry breeds and various diseases of poultry birds along with their control and treatment. Dr. Yashwant Singh, Deputy Director, gave lectures on Poultry housing and care/ management of poultry birds according to age. Scientists from GADVASU, Dr. Parminder Singh and Dr. Udeybir Singh gave detailed information about economics of poultry farming and feeding of poultry birds, respectively. Dr. Parul Gupta and Dr. Vikas Phulia gave lectures on value addition of poultry produce and integration of fisheries with poultry, respectively. Mr. Rattan Singh, Deputy Director, PNB (Farmer Training Centre) shared information about various loan schemes on poultry farming. The training course ended successfully with distribution of certificates and closing address by Deputy Director, KVK about working and facilities provided to farmers by KVK.
