‘FRISKY NIGHT 2017’ a cultural evening of hostel No.3 and 9 of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal 
Sciences University, Ludhiana was organized by students residing in hostel no. 3 & 9. Dr. Bhpinder Singh Sandhu warden, Hostel no. 9 told that besides cultural items, various events like modelling competition, best turban and Chapatti/Roti eating competition were also held during the function. Amrit was declared winner of modelling competition. Gurkaran Singh won the award for 
best turban in the hostel. There was a tie between Sandeep Singh and Mehtab Singh in Chapatti eating competition. They were declared joint winner by eating 22 Chapattis each. Students presented various cultural items viz; songs, dances monoacting/one act plays, mimicry etc. Every one enjoyed the typical ‘Bhand presentation’ by Himanshu & Anmol. Anish & Bharti Raj co-ordinated the stage in an impressive manner and events were formulated in a very systematic way. Small quizzes and surprise questions (for students and faculty members) were asked by Dr. Dwivedi and Dr. M. S. Bal, Warden Hostel no. 3 and winners were given on the spot gifts.
Dr. Sandhu revealed that various sports events chess, volleyball, tug-of-war, table-tennis were also organized in the week and prizes for the same were distributed during the cultural night. Volleyball and 
tug-of-war competitions were won by ‘Ishqpuriye’ group. Chess tournament was won by Dharmanshu Mal and 2nd position achieved by Subhash Kumar Singh. Table tennis tournament was won by Gurnoor Singh and runners up was Rojesh. A total of 155 students participated in various cultural and sports events. The cultural night not only made the students joyful and cheerful but also taught the qualities like mutual co-
operation & unity.
Prizes/Mementoes were distributed to students by Dr. S.Rampal DSW cum EO, Dr. S.S. Singh, Dean PGS, Dr. S. Prabhakar, Registrar & Dr. S. N. S. Randhawa, Research Advisor of University. Dr. S. Rampal DSW cum EO congratulated students for organizing a wonderful cultural evening. Dr. B. S. Sandhu, Warden Hostel No. 9 highlighted the salient facilities provided to hostel students. Dr. M.S. Bal Warden Hostel no. 3 thanked all the dignitaries for encouraging students and attending the hostel function
