celebrated Annual Prize Distribution Function to facilitate the students for their outstanding performances and achievements in academics, sports and other co-curricular activities including various cultural activities like fine arts, literary, music, theatre and dance events, during 2016. Dr. Sushil Prabhakar, Registrar, GADVASU was the Chief Guest of the function.
Dr. Meera D Ansal HoD told that the undergraduate (B.F.Sc.) students were awarded for achieving highest overall credit point average (OCPA) and highest attendance percentage during 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of their degree program. ‘Mata Ind Kaur Awards’, sponsored by the former Dean of the College, Dr. Kamaldeep Kaur, were also given to the 2nd, 3rdand 4th year undergraduate students for academic excellence. The students who won various prizes during 7th Youth Festival and 10th Annual Athlete Meet of GADVASU during 2016 were also given prizes for their achievements. Singh), Best Athlete of the College (Mr. Siraj Ahmed), Best Singer of the University (Mr. Ranjeet Singh), Best Artist of the University (Ms. Amandeep Kaur) and Best Student of the College (Ms. Paransheel) for the academic year 2015-2016, were felicitated with a certificate of honor and letter of appreciation. Best Student Award is given every year to a meritorious B.F.Sc. student with highest OCPA and outstanding achievements in the field of sports/extra co-curricular activities as well. Besides all the winners, students who represented the College as well as the university in different events but could not win any prizes, were also appreciated for their efforts and spirit of participation.
Dr. Prabhakar addressed the students and congratulated them for their achievements and impressed that besides academic excellence, it is very vital to participate in sports and other co-curricular activities for overall personality development.
Dr. Asha Dhawan, Dean, College of Fisheries also lauded the students not only for bringing laurels to the College by winning various prizes. She also appreciated the College DDMC In-charge, Dr. Shanthanagouda A.H., Sport In-charge, Dr. Adhed Pandy and NSS In-charge, Mr. Vijay Kumar Reddy for their dedication and sincere efforts. Dr. Grishma Tewari coordinated the function, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vaneet Inder Kaur.
