Vet Varsity organizes ‘Mega Blood Donation Camp’ Commemorates to Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

In a heartwarming display of community service and compassion, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (GGSSC) unit of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organized a 'Mega Blood Donation Camp' to mark the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. JPS Gill, Vice Chancellor. It was held in collaboration with Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff of various colleges within the university. Nearly 100 units of blood were donated, underscoring the collective effort of the university community in contributing to the noble cause of saving lives.
Dr. JPS Gill expressed his gratitude to the donors and highlighted the significance of the blood donation drive, emphasizing that it embodied the true spirit of service to humanity, transcending barriers of religion, caste, and creed. He stated, "Blood donation is the noblest form of service, and there is no substitute for blood in times of need." Dr. Gill also acknowledged the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, whose message of selfless service and compassion continues to inspire people to contribute to society.
Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Students' Welfare described blood donors as "real heroes," recognizing the essential role they play in saving lives. Dr. Jaspal Singh Hundal, President, and Dr. Davinder Pathak, General Secretary of GGSSC, motivated the youth to participate in large numbers. They stressed the importance of channeling youthful energy into meaningful societal contributions, with blood donation being one of the most impactful ways to give back to society. Student volunteers from GGSSC, including Jaskirat Singh, Lagan Verma, Simran, Nabvir, Kamalpreet, Ashita, and Minakshi, played a pivotal role in organizing and mobilizing their peers to participate in the camp. The blood collection was managed by the team from DMC&H, led by Dr. Shria. The event was attended by faculty members, office bearers of GGSSC, and other dignitaries from the university.
