College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organized an orientation program to welcome the first-year students of BTech Dairy Technology and BTech Food Science Technology. Dr R S Sethi, Dean, said that the event was aimed at familiarizing the new batch with the academic environment, rules, and extracurricular opportunities available at the university. Dr. Sethi delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the university's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and leadership. He spoke about the numerous opportunities awaiting the students, including cutting-edge research, industry collaborations, and entrepreneurship ventures. Dr. Amandeep Sharma extended warm greetings to the students as they embark on their academic journey.
Dr. Gopika Talwar briefed the students on the university's academic rules and regulations, emphasizing the importance of discipline, attendance, and academic integrity. Dr. Rekha Chawla provided insights into the cultural activities offered at the university, encouraging students to participate and enhance their overall development.
Dr. Vikas Sangwan highlighted the various sports facilities and activities available, motivating students to maintain a healthy balance between academics and physical fitness. Dr. Narender, discussed the role and significance of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and encouraged students to get involved in community service initiatives. Dr Inderpreet Kaur facilitated the award of certificates to the first, second, and third prize winners of the various competitions held during the university’s anti-ragging campaign, recognizing their active participation and efforts.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. P.K. Singh expressed gratitude to the faculty members and students for their enthusiastic participation. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, commended the efforts of the faculty in organizing the event and shared his vision for nurturing the students into future leaders in the field of Dairy and Food Technology.
