Rich Haul By Vet Varsity Ncc Cadets At Republic Day Camp

1 Pb R & V SQN, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana participated in Equitation Competitions for the Republic Day Camp 2024 at N. Delhi. A total of 20 NCC Units from 12 directorates participated in the event. The Vet Varsity participated in the event with 03 horses and 03 cadets (2 Boys and 01 Girl).  The cadets performed exceptionally well. Cadet Manpreet won two Gold medals in the Dressage & Hacks unit. She also won the overall Best Cadet (Girl) Rider Trophy. Cadet Shiv Kumar won 2 Gold medals in Dressage Novice and Tent Pegging Novice events. He also bagged the runner up Best Cadet Rider Trophy. He also won the Runners up Roop Jyoti Trophy for Tent Pegging. Cadet Abhay won silver in the Hacks Boys event. The unit won Total 5 medals, 2 Runner up trophies and 01 best rider trophy. This is the best performance of the unit Since raising.
The team was trained by Sq. Quartermaster, Abdul Qadir who worked tirelessly 24x7 with the cadets on the ground. He mentored them by teaching riding from the beginning and today these cadets won these laurels for the unit and university. The Associate NCC officers Drs. Nittin Dev Singh and P.P. Dubey selected and motivated these cadets to join the unique facility of horse riding of the university. The college of veterinary science always supported the students in their endeavours.
Lt Col Anshul Reothia, Officer Commanding, 1 Pb R&V Sqn NCC Ludhiana as the Contingent Commander (R&V) was leading force for planning, selection, coordination and training of cadets . With his active mentorship the unit stood 1st out of 20 units participating in RDC-24.
Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean College of Veterinary Science congratulated the whole staff of NCC SQN for this rare feat. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor praised the entire staff and cadets of the NCC Unit for this exemplary achievement and motivated them to keep up the good work.
