Training on Recent Trends in Animal Disease Diagnosis Concludes at Vet Varsity

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana trained 10 Veterinary Officers of the Animal Husbandry Department of Madhya Pradesh in a five days training programme . The training entitled “Recent Trends in Animal Disease Diagnosis Using Imaging and Laboratory Techniques” conducted by departments of Animal Disease Research Centre, Veterinary Surgery & Radiology of the University along with the Directorate of Extension Education. Dr. Mandeep Singh Bal, In-Charge ADRC & Course Director of the training highlighted that the participants were provided hands-on experience regarding laboratory diagnosis of major microbial and parasitic diseases of livestock along with practical training on hemato-biochemical, urinalysis and its interpretation. 
Dr. Vishal Mahajan, Principal Scientist, ADRC also trained the participants regarding collection and dispatch of samples during animal disease outbreaks. Dr. Navdeep Singh, HoD, Veterinary Surgery & Radiology stated that advanced imaging technologies related with radiography and ultrasonography were demonstrated and hands-on sessions were conducted for the participants. The participants were also sensitized regarding day-to-day cases presented at the University Veterinary Hospital. 
Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education congratulated the participants on successful completion of the training. He highlighted that such types of trainings are of immense importance to the field veterinarians. Such trainings will aid in better disease diagnosis which will help in improving the overall animal healthcare and service delivery to the livestock farmers. During the feedback session, trainees appreciated the diagnostic facilities available at the University’s Veterinary Hospital. The training was coordinated by Dr. Gursimran Filia, Principal Scientist and Dr. Amandeep Singh, Assistant Professor.
