Dr. Preeti, M.V.Sc student of Centre for One Health, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University won Commonwealth Veterinary Association Essay Competition. In this competition, veterinary students across commonwealth countries participated and the first prize has been conferred to Dr. Preeti. She has been awarded with the citation and cash prize of AUS $500. Dr. J.S. Bedi, Director, Centre for One Health informed that the topic was “What does Veterinary Sustainability look like in your country”. It was organised for all the members of commonwealth countries. The Mission of the Commonwealth Veterinary Association was to promote the veterinary profession within the Commonwealth by encouraging the highest professional standards of education, ethics and service in order to advance animal health, productivity and welfare so as to improve the quality of life of all its peoples. Dr Bedi congratulated Dr. Preeti and encouraged the students to participate in national and international scientific activities. Dr. Inderjeet Singh Vice-Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the student and congratulated the faculty of Centre for One Health for this endeavour.
