Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Ludhiana is organizing G-20 University Connect - Engaging Young
Minds on ‘Climate-Smart Agriculture, Food Systems and One Health’ under a series of sub-themes under the aegis of Ministry of External Affairs, and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi. In this sequence, College of Dairy Science and Technology organized 3M (3 Minute) Presentation and e-Poster student events under the sub-theme ‘Zero Waste and Food Value Chain’.
Dr R S Sethi, Dean, College of Dairy Science and Technology and convener for the event briefed about the event and highlighted the importance of the sub-theme in global context. Dr S K Uppal, Dean Postgraduate Studies mentioned that this pre-event was a part of forthcoming G20 stage event on 23rd August 2023. He motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students for fervent response towards such participation calls. A total of 07 and 04 students participated under the 3M and e-poster categories, respectively. Students came up with ideas such as, cultured meat and alternative protein, dairy waste management, applications of antimicrobial peptides and nano-bubbles, rapid pathogen detection for ensuring Zero Waste and achieving quality Food Value chain. Presentations in the form of 3M and e-posters attracted appreciation and suggestions from panel of experts and faculty members. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor congratulated the organizers, participants and audience for their enthusiastic response and stated that such events open up a platform for discussion and path for new and novel ideas
