A four days long foundation day celebration of College of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, concluded in a colourful and cheerful manner with a cultural eve programme. Dr
Yashpal Singh Malik, Dean of the college, in his welcome address informed that students and faculty of the college joined hands to make the event memorable. He mentioned that the event was held jointly with Alumni Association of the College. Dr Malik also presented the achievements of the college in research, academics and extension. Dr JPS Gill, Director Research, GADVASU, Ludhiana was the Chief guest. He emphasised that every student should actively participate in extra-curricular activities. Dr Parvender, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana was the guest of honour. The officers of the GADVASU also attended the programme. Dr. Simrinder Singh Sodhi, Co-Chairman of the event said that students presented the colourful shades of life during the eve by beautiful dances & melodious songs. Dr Satparkash Singh, Organizing Secretary briefed about the offstage events held such as Photography, Cartooning, Rangoli, Collage and Extempore. Ms Navdeep and Dr Kanchan were judged best in extempore whereas Ms Samreet and Dr Manu were best in photography. Harpriya, Heeta Garg, Shikha Sharma and Dr Gurvinder were best performer in Poster making, Cartooning, Rangoli and Collage making, respectively. Harshpreet Kaur, Tanishka, Abhiti, Palak and Dr Shikha thrilled the audience with excellent singing while Jagdeep, Jasnoor, Siya, Arshdeep, Jatin and Komal performed beautiful dances. Drs Shikha Chaudhary and Sheza Farooq, students of the college were awarded for securing international CREATE fellowship for pursuing PhD.Dr BBS Dhaliwal, presented vote of thanks to conclude the event.
